Site Information
Smallhouse is the somewhat fragmented online representation of one individual currently residing in Chicago. It was until recently graciously hosted by exitseraphim.org, the domain of the beautiful and intelligent Miss M. Zarya Cynadar. It is now hosted under its own power, and with its own domain, but great thanks are stil owed to Miss Cynadar. Should you wish to contact the proprieter, he can be reached through AIM under the alias 'Psychevore' and through e-mail by zombiejustice (at) gmail.com, though he recommends including either his name or that of the website in the subject line.
This website has existed in six other formats at three other servers in the past. It began as 'The Shrine of Fanta' at Switchboard.com, a server I do not recommend using for such endevours. This version was little more than a few short quirky sentences, an image of Fanta cans, and links to other pages, but in those days, it was all about the novelty of the thing. It then existed as 'Lunatic's Cove' on Angelfire, server which has since gone downhill, but is probably still a decent option for beginning websmiths. LC was an Interactive Story-esque layout, heavy on text, and betrayed my then fairly recent introduction to html. It was soon after this that the website began to take the shape it has assumed at present. The third edition, called 'The Realm of the Banana', was the first format to be more than an obtuse hodge-podge of material and links. RotB was orderly, colourful, and it was there that I began, in the form of an update notice page, what has since become a full-on journal.
Around that same time, Zarya, who had herself left Angelfire some time before, invited me to be hosted on the domain she had purchased, and for free, no less. Of course, I accepted. After a time, my expanding knowledge led me to create the 'Cruise Uncontrolled' dashboard-themed layout that I am still rather proud of. Since I am not a car person, eventually the CU layout became immensly uninspiring, and I retreated again to a text-heavy layout, though much better done than LC had been. This new layout was called Smallhouse.
In time, I also became unsatisfied with this, and the website entered a transitory period wherein it had the appearance of CU, but not the spirit. At long last, it emerged in its new form. I decided to retain the name Smallhouse because it so perfectly embodied the attitude I wished to present. A few years later, I decided it was time to get my own webspace, and purchased the 3feetofftheedge.com domain. New icons, a slightly different layout, php, an interest in web standards, an RSS feed all came into play at about that time. My enthusiasm for coding webpages waxes and wanes, but I am still working on things. Please be patient.
And of course, this webpage was made entire in Notepad.
